POSITION TITLE:                  Family Resource and Youth Service Center Coordinator

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                Bachelors Degree in Family Studies, Social Work, Health Education, or closely related field with human service work experience.

 

REPORTS TO:                         Director of Child, Family & Health Services

 

SUPERVISES:                         Home/School Liaisons and/or FRYSC Managers

 

JOB GOAL:                             To coordinate an array of services in a collaborative effort to maximize accessibility and responsiveness to the needs of students and families to ensure educational success. To enhance collaboration across services and schools, and promote efficient and effective use of community resources. To support a nurturant family relationship for students, and positive family/school relationships.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform all duties of service and operation necessary for optimal FRYSC program compliance with objectives, state regulations, Board of Education Policies, and Advisory Council recommendations.

 

 2.  A ssist as a school team member to collaborate, plan, develop, and provide services that assure attainment of short-term and long-term educational goals for students, families, and community; including working with families and students  through school and home visits.

 

3. Provide service and operation information necessary for the Center FRYSC Advisory Council to function effectively, and serve as liaison for Advisory Council and Schools.

 

4. Promote interagency relationships that assure information sharing, effective and efficient cross-agency referrals, and promote collaboration of resources within the community.

 

5. Attend district staff FRYSC meetings, Regional FRYSC meetings; conduct staff meetings for assigned personnel, interpret the goals, objectives, and services to staff; and schedule staff assignments.

 

6. Promote a positive, welcoming atmosphere for participants, and positive reciprocal relationships between families and schools.

 

7. Identify, use and share resource and referral information to assist and advocate for students and  families to obtain services they need; and maintain current information on community services and systems as changes occur.

 

8. Plan, coordinate, and implement outreach activities for families and children who may benefit from services offered, but have not contacted or have not maintained contact with Family Resource Services or the school.

 

9. Assure participant confidentiality and rights according to federal and state statutes, and assure policies for parental consent.

 

10. Coordinate formative data collection, conduct annual student and family needs assessments, monitor needs and program effectiveness, compile quarterly and annual reports, develop and operate FRYSC component plans and recommend data-based program changes.

 

11. Assist to locate and develop resources to enhance student educational success; prepare and submit grants and proposals to increase school resources; and ensure services are non-supplantive of any existing resource or service.

 

12. Participate in training and professional development, including recommendations of the Advisory Council; with approval of Director of Child, Family & Health Services.

 

13. Provide orientation, awareness education, parent education and workshops, and training according to program and school objectives.

 

14. Perform additional duties as recommended and approved by the Director of Child, Family & Health Services or assigned by the Superintendent.
