Job Title: District Technician
Overview:
As a K12 Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the technical infrastructure of our school district. This position involves providing hands-on technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and collaborating with educators and administrators to ensure the seamless integration of technology into the learning environment. The K12 Technician will contribute to the overall success of our education's technology initiatives and the smooth operation of our schools.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support
• Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, including teachers, staff, and students to resolve hardware and software issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair computer, printers, interactive whiteboards, and other classroom technology equipment.
Device Deployment and Management:
• Assist in the setup and deployment of new computers, tablets, Chromebook, and other devices for teachers and staff.
• Manage and maintain an inventory of all technology equipment, ensuring proper documentation and tracking.
Software Installation and Updates:
• Install, configure, and update software applications on computers and devices as needed.
• Collaborate with the IT team to implement and manage software updates, patches, and security measures.
Network Connectivity:
• Assist in ensuring reliable network connectivity in classrooms and administrative areas.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, working closely with the network administration team.
Security Measures:
• Implement and follow security protocols to protect against unauthorized access and cybersecurity threats.
• Collaborate with the IT team to conduct regular security audits and assessments.
Collaboration with the IT team:
• Work collaboratively with other IT team members to address complex technical issues and projects.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute insights to improve overall IT operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant coursework preferred.
Proven experience in providing technical support in an education setting or similar environment.
Familiarity with common educational software applications and platforms.
Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
Ability to set up and configure computers, printers, and other technology equipment.
Good understanding of network connectivity and basic network troubleshooting.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Information:
• This is a full-time position with responsibilities during regular school hours.
• The district technician reports to (Supervisor or IT Director).
• Occasional travel within the school district may be required.
